Accounts Assistant / Credit Controller
The chosen candidate will provide full support and assistance to the Chief Accountant. Main duties include following up on A/R collection, maintaining sales and purchase ledgers and the customer database, updating the cash book and allocations, invoicing, and dealing with customer queries.
Key responsibilities
- Daily invoicing with the Stock and Order Department.
- Prepare statements and reminders to customers, and chase customers on payment.
- Take full responsibility for portal accounts — submitting invoices in their systems and processing invoices through a loader.
- Submit accurate monthly cash predictions to the Chief Accountant.
- Liaise with Sales Reps with updates on account debt and account status.
- Chase order teams for pending credit notes or unanswered queries.
- Liaise with the Accounts Assistant on A&P for contra payments.
- Assist with month-end closing.
- Handle ad hoc office duties.
- Assist with audit requests.
About you
- Relevant experience in a similar credit control or accounts function.
- Intermediate Excel skills and experience with accounting software (ERP); Exact Globe is a plus.
- Good telephone manner, a strong communicator and a genuine team player.
- Organised, with good time-keeping and the ability to prioritise your workload effectively.
